Electronics cooling with onboard conformal encapsulation
2016 15th IEEE Intersociety Conference on Thermal and Thermomechanical Phenomena in Electronic Systems (ITherm), 2016A new technology for onboard liquid cooling of high power density electronic devices is introduced via conformal encapsulation of the devices and direct contact liquid cooling. This research effort addresses size, weight and power constraints of onboard application with a CFD-enabled design that delivers a uniform coolant flow over single- and multi ...

Conformal Cooling of the Injection Moulds
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013Paper deals with the diagnosis of operating conditions for injection moulding tools. Paper specifically deals with the conformal cooling of injection moulds for its production is using the direct metal laser sintering method. It´s quite modern method about injection mould cooling system design to improve cooling intensity.

Removable, conforming device for cooling the cortical surface
Brain Research Bulletin, 1979A technique for cooling the cerebral cortex is described. It makes use of a neoprene bladder through which cold fluids is circulated. The flexible bladder is contained within a cylinder permanently attached to the skull. The bladder itself can be quickly installed and removed and conforms to the cortical surface with minimal pressure.

Conformational Geometries and Conformation-Dependent Photophysics of Jet-Cooled 1,3-Diphenylpropane
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2000Rotationally resolved laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectra of the S1 ← S0 transitions have been recorded for various conformers of 1,3-diphenylpropane (DPP) in supersonic free expansion. Ab initio simulation of the rotational band contours, based on the S0 rotational constants from 6-31G(d) MP2 and transition moments from 6-31G(d) CI singles ...

The design principle of an additively manufactured (AMed) lattice structural conformal cooling channel for hot stamping is investigated. AM with selective laser melting is adopted to fabricate a lab-scale rapid cooling die filled with conformal lattice structures, which provide structural stiffness, act as thermal fins, and expedite the occurrence of ...

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020
Abstract Cycle time is a significant parameter in injection molding process as it affects the rate of production and governs the quality of part produced. The cycle time can be reduced by minimizing the cooling time. Cooling time contributes to the majority of the cycle time and it can be effectively reduced by proper heat dissipation.

Variable Radius Conformal Cooling Channel for Rapid Tool
Materials Science Forum, 2006The cooling system of a plastic injection mould is important as it affects the quality and productivity of the polymeric components or assemblies. Contemporary cooling channel design is confined to simple configurations of straight-drilled coolant passageway around the mould insert.

Conformal Cooling of Aluminium Flat Fins Using a 3D Printed Water-Cooled Mould
2021Additive manufacturing (AM) of high pressure die casting (HPDC) tools for casting complex aluminium parts provides more versatility in achieving conformal cooling. Nevertheless, the high thermal fatigue of the tools near the casting cavity restricts the use of small coolant pipe diameters or the location of the pipes closer to the cast cavity ...
