Design of Conformal Cooling System with Lattice-structure of Mold Based on 3D Printing

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
The conformal cooling water circuit manufactured by using metal 3D printing SLM technology has significant advantages, compared to the straight drilling cooling water circuit, but there is still a problem of large temperature differences in local mold ...

Cooling simulation of conformal cooling injection mould insert produced by hybrid manufacturing

open access: yesTehnicki vjesnik - Technical Gazette, 2017
Cooling of injection moulds manufactured by machining has limitations because cooling channels are formed by conventional straight holes. With additive manufacturing, the cooling channels can be produced in the shape which is adjusted to the cavity and core surface of injection moulds.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Optimizing Laser Sintering Parameters and Cooling Channel Designs for Enhanced Injection Molding of Medical Tube Connectors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
Respiratory equipment disconnections in hospitals pose severe risks, including hypoxia and mortality. Suboptimal tube connector quality, often worsened by traditional cooling mold designs, results in uneven thermal equilibrium, product deformation, and ...

Design, Characterisation and Numerical Investigations of Additively Manufactured H10 Hybrid-Forging Dies with Conformal Cooling Channels

open access: yesMetals, 2022
Internal die cooling during forging can reduce thermal loads, counteracting surface softening, plastic deformation and abrasive die wear. Additive manufacturing has great potential for producing complex geometries of the internal cooling channels.

Newton’s law of cooling with fractional conformable derivative

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Física, 2018
The fractional conformable derivative and its properties have been introduced recently. Using this derivative we obtain a new class of smooth solutions for the Newton’s law of cooling in terms of a stretched exponential function depending on the fractional order parameter 0 < γ ≤ 1.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
