On the classification of 5d SCFTs

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We determine all 5d SCFTs upto rank three by studying RG flows of 5d KK theories. Our analysis reveals the existence of new rank one and rank two 5d SCFTs not captured by previous classifications.

Tachyon Condensation, Open-Closed Duality, Resolvents, and Minimal Bosonic and Type 0 Strings

open access: yes, 2004
Type 0A string theory in the (2,4k) superconformal minimal model backgrounds and the bosonic string in the (2,2k-1) conformal minimal models, while perturbatively identical in some regimes, may be distinguished non-perturbatively using double scaled ...

Boundary states, matrix factorisations and correlation functions for the E-models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The open string spectra of the B-type D-branes of the N=2 E-models are calculated. Using these results we match the boundary states to the matrix factorisations of the corresponding Landau-Ginzburg models.

Coulomb and Higgs branches from canonical singularities. Part I. Hypersurfaces with smooth Calabi-Yau resolutions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Compactification of M-theory and of IIB string theory on threefold canonical singularities gives rise to superconformal field theories (SCFTs) in 5d and 4d, respectively.

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.

Long strings and chiral primaries in the hybrid formalism

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We revisit two related phenomena in AdS3 string theory backgrounds. At pure NS-NS flux, the spectrum contains a continuum of long strings which can escape to the boundary of AdS3 at a finite cost of energy.

Roadmap to Precision 3D Printing of Cellulose: Rheology‐Guided Formulation, Fidelity Assessment, and Application Horizons

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This critical review presents a comprehensive roadmap for the precision 3D printing of cellulose. Quantitative correlations link ink formulation and rheological properties to print fidelity and final material performance. This framework guides the development of advanced functional materials, from biomedical scaffolds to electromagnetic shielding ...

Twin conformal field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Supersymmetric theories with the same bosonic content but different fermions, aka twins, were thought to exist only for supergravity. Here we show that pairs of super conformal field theories, for example exotic N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 3 and N $$ \mathcal ...

Condensates and Singularities in String Theory

open access: yes, 1993
We derive a class of solutions to the string sigma-model equations for the closed bosonic string. The tachyon field is taken to form a constant condensate and the beta-function equations at one-loop level are solved for the evolution of the metric and ...

Exact results for the low energy AdS(4)XCP(3) string theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We derive the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations for the relativistic sigma model describing the AdS(4)XCP(3) string II A theory at strong coupling (i.e. in the Alday-Maldacena decoupling limit).
