This review article reports that quantification of hypoxic volumes using PET in the pre‐radiation therapy setting is of prognostic value and indicative of treatment response in non‐small cell lung cancer. Abstract Introduction Non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer‐related death. Definitive treatment includes chemotherapy and

ABSTRACT Introduction In liver transplantation (LT) with a caval sparing (CS) approach, the presence of complete encirclement of inferior vena cava (IVC‐E) by hypertrophic segment 1 increases the technical complexity of hepatectomy. Thus, in LT for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), It may be suspected that the resulting greater liver manipulation and ...

ABSTRACT For cervical cancer, the choice between definitive radiotherapy (RT) and surgery has long been a topic of debate. Clinical factors, including histology and tumor burden, have been examined in prior studies. Given recent advances in RT and the incorporation of concurrent chemotherapy, our study seeks to assess the optimal treatment modality for

Effects of Intubation Duration on Trachea: A Histopathological Study
This study evaluated the histopathological effects of prolonged endotracheal intubation on the human trachea using biopsy specimens obtained during tracheotomy. Prolonged intubation was associated with progressive inflammatory and structural changes, with tracheal dilatation and perichondritis increasing significantly after 14 days.

Impact of Age and Nerve Impairment Interaction on Bell's Palsy Prognosis
This study investigated the prognostic impact of the interaction between aging and nerve impairment severity in 181 patients with Bell's palsy. Although age alone was not an independent predictor, the interaction between older age (≥ 65 years) and a Nerve Excitability Test threshold difference (≥ 3.5 mA) significantly increased the risk of incomplete ...

The FGF/FGFR System in the Biology and Therapeutic Landscape of Pediatric CNS Tumors
ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the most common solid malignancies in children, comprising a highly heterogeneous group of neoplasms defined by distinct molecular alterations and clinical behaviors. Advances in molecular genetics have underscored the relevance of specific signaling pathways in driving pediatric tumorigenesis, among ...
