A review of NMR analysis in polysaccharide structure and conformation: Progress, challenge and perspective.

Food Research International, 2021
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has been widely used as an analytical chemistry technique to investigate the molecular structure and conformation of polysaccharides.

Recent Advances in Chain Conformation and Bioactivities of Triple-helix Polysaccharides.

Biomacromolecules, 2020
Natural polysaccharides derive from renewable biomass sources, and are regarded as environmentally friendly and sustainable polymers. As the third abundant biomacromolecule after protein and nucleic acid in nature, polysaccharides are also closely ...

Conformational Polymorphism

Chemical Reviews, 2013
An unambiguous definition of conformational change and conformational polymorphism, as well as a quantitative basis for the likelihood of its appearance, is reviewed. Conformational adjustment and conformational change are different phenomena. Two polymorphs are conformational polymorphs only if their conformations are related by conformational change.

Cosmetic Conformers

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1997
Abstract. The loss of an eye is an emotionally traumatic event. A prosthetic eye is usually not fitted until the socket has healed (about 6 weeks after surgery). This period, during which a clear conformer is fitted, can be particularly traumatic, especially for the newly anophthalmic patient.

Conformational Disorder

2009
In recent years it was shown that a large number of proteins are either fully or partially disordered. Intrinsically disordered proteins are ubiquitary proteins that fulfill essential biological functions while lacking a stable 3D structure. Despite the large abundance of disorder, disordered regions are still poorly detected.

Conformation Directed Mpemba Effect on Polylactide Crystallization

Crystal Growth & Design, 2018
Structures of polymers depend on the degree of polymerization and chain conformation, and the chain conformation plays a key role on the structure formation and structure transition of an existing ...

Conformal Rigidity

American Journal of Mathematics, 1987
Let \(M^ n\) be an n-dimensional differentiable manifold and \(f: M^ n\to R^{n+k}\) be an immersion into the Euclidean space \(R^{n+k}\); f is called conformally (isometrically) rigid if given an immersion \(g: M^ n\to R^{n+k}\) such that the metrics induced on M by f and g are conformal (isometric) then there exists a conformal transformation (rigid ...

Conformational disease

The Lancet, 1997
Several diverse disorders, including the prevalent dementias and encephalopathies, are now believed to arise from the same general disease mechanism. In each, there is abnormal unfolding and then aggregation of an underlying protein. The gradual accumulation of these aggregates and the acceleration of their formation by stress explain the ...
