Reaction-diffusion dynamics: confrontation between theory and experiment in a microfluidic reactor

open access: yes, 2003
We confront, quantitatively, the theoretical description of the reaction-diffusion of a second order reaction to experiment. The reaction at work is \ca/CaGreen, and the reactor is a T-shaped microchannel, 10 $\mu$m deep, 200 $\mu$m wide, and 2 cm long ...

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

Argentina\u27s System of Foreign Investments [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The purpose of this article is to provide the practitioner with an understanding of Argentina\u27s foreign investment norms, supply some general information related to this area and, whenever possible, explain how the authorities have applied the law to ...

Toward Predictive Theory in Single‐Atom Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A lifecycle‐oriented framework reframes modeling in single‐atom catalysis. By combining ensemble‐based descriptions with explicit validation against experimental observables, the approach defines the scope of theory across catalyst synthesis, activity, stability, and safety, clarifying where quantitative insight is possible and where interpretation ...

Defect‐Functionalization‐Mediated Tunneling Drives Nonlinear Photoemission in Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This cover illustration depicts CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals embedded with functionalized defect vacancies, where electrons migrate through defect‐mediated pathways and emit as lightning‐like beams. The imagery visualizes the core discovery of our work—defect‐functionalization‐mediated tunneling enabling nonlinear photoemission, where deep‐level ...

Cluster excitation and ionization in high velocity collisions:the atomic approach

open access: yes, 2004
The independent atom and electron model [1] is introduced in a quantum context and associated approximations tentatively estimated. Confrontation of the model to measured ionization and excitation cross sections of small ionic carbon clusters Cn+ in ...

Sensitivity analyses of thermal bridges: confrontation with the new Belgian EPB-methodology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
As governments continue to impose more and higher energetic requirements for buildings, they also need better assessment-tools to take into account as many parameters as possible.

Memristive Physical Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Memristors’ nonlinear dynamics and input‐dependent memory effects make them ideal candidates for high‐performance physical reservoir computing (RC). Based on their conductance modulation, memristors can be classified as electronic or optoelectronic types.
