The deficiency of being a congruence group for Veech groups of origamis
We study "how far away" a finite index subgroup G of SL(2,Z) is from being a congruence group. For this we define its deficiency of being a congruence group. We show that the index of the image of G in SL(2,Z/nZ) is biggest, if n is the general Wohlfahrt

Focusing of geodesic congruences in an accelerated expanding Universe [PDF]
We study the accelerated expansion of the Universe through its consequences on a congruence of geodesics. We make use of the Raychaudhuri equation which describes the evolution of the expansion rate for a congruence of timelike or null geodesics.

Objective Studies of damage accrual in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show associations with disease activity measured by the SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K), but these associations are imperfect. SLEDAI scores are powerfully influenced by weightings (1‐8) assigned to each domain.

Congruences for L-functions of additive exponential sums [PDF]
We give a congruence for L-functions coming from affine additive exponential sums over a finite field. Precisely, we give a congruence for certain operators coming from Dwork's theory.

A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Figure and its influence on problem solving strategies for a flat Geometry problem
In this paper we aim to analyze how a figure proposed as part of the statement of a problem situation about flat Geometry can influence the resolution procedures presented by students entering a Mathematics degree course.

Consensus genetic structuring and typological value of markers using multiple co-inertia analysis
Working with weakly congruent markers means that consensus genetic structuring of populations requires methods explicitly devoted to this purpose. The method, which is presented here, belongs to the multivariate analyses.

Varieties whose tolerances are homomorphic images of their congruences [PDF]
The homomorphic image of a congruence is always a tolerance (relation) but, within a given variety, a tolerance is not necessarily obtained this way. By a Maltsev-like condition, we characterize varieties whose tolerances are homomorphic images of their ...
