Fatal Disseminated Conidiobolus coronatus Infection in a Renal Transplant Patient
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1992A case of fatal disseminated fungal infection due to Conidiobolus coronatus in a patient with a renal transplant is described. This organism, known to cause localized infections in otherwise healthy individuals in the tropics, is now recognized as a cause of fatal infection in immunosuppressed hosts.

Characteristics of hyphal structure and growth can provide insights into the mechanisms of polarized growth and support investigations of fungal phylogeny. To assist with the resolution of evolutionary relationships of the zygomycetes, the authors used comparative bioimaging methods (light [LM] and transmission electron [TEM] microscopy) to describe ...

Pathogenicity of Conidiobolus coronatus and Fusarium solani in mouse models
Mycoses, 2017SummaryTo study the pathogenicity of Conidiobolus coronatus (C. coronatus) and Fusarium solani (F. solani) in animal models. Immunocompromised mice were treated with cyclophosphamide and prednisolone via intraperitoneal injection before and after inoculation. According to pathogenic characteristics of different fungi, C.

Effect of ketoconazole — Potassium iodide combination on Conidiobolus coronatus infection
Indian Journal of Otolaryngology, 1991A rare case of subcutaneous Conidiobolus coronatus infection of the nose of 1 year duration is being reported. Following treatment failure using oral Potassium iodide only, the patient responded to Ketoconazole and Pot. iodide combination with remarkable fastness.

Thermostability of high-activity alkaline protease from Conidiobolus coronatus (NCL 86.8.20)
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1995Abstract Conidiobolus coronatus (NCL 86.8.20) produces high levels of protease activity (30 U ml−1). The ease of microbe-free enzyme preparation and its compatibility with most of the commercial detergents are the advantageous features of Conidiobolus protease. The enzyme was stable at 28°C for 20 h and at 40°C for 1 h, but was completely inactive on

A selected panel of 13 colonies of entomopathogenic fungus Conidiobolus coronatus representing 6 variants of pathogenicity to Galleria mellonella larvae (ranged from 100 to 10% of efficiency), derived from single spores, were tested for the presence of hypervariable loci in their genomes by hybridization with Jeffreys' human minisatellite probe 33.6 ...

Abstract The scanning electron microscope was used to delineate the morphological differences between Entomophthora virulenta and Conidiobolus coronatus isolated from field-infected cabbage and seedcorn maggots, Hylemya brassicae and H. platura. This SEM study supports the removal of C.

[A case of entomophthoromycosis caused by Conidiobolus coronatus].
Revista medica de Panama, 1991The authors report a case of entomophthoromicosis caused by Conidiobolus coronatus, a saprophytic fungus that belongs to the class Zygomycetes (Phycomycetes in the past). Our patient was from a rural area. The paranasal sinuses had been drained surgically and a polyp was removed from his nasal cavity.

Revue de stomatologie, de chirurgie maxillo-faciale et de chirurgie orale, 2015Conidiobolomycoses (Conidiobolus coronatus fungal infections) are rare and potentially severe infections prevalent in the tropics. The disease starts in the facial sinus and evolves as a subcutaneous tumor on the mid faceA 19-year-old female patient from Burkina Faso presented with an acquired nasal deformation having evolved for a few months ...
