Agent-based model of human alveoli predicts chemotactic signaling by epithelial cells during early Aspergillus fumigatus infection. [PDF]
Aspergillus fumigatus is one of the most important human fungal pathogens, causing life-threatening diseases. Since humans inhale hundreds to thousands of fungal conidia every day, the lower respiratory tract is the primary site of infection.

ABSTRACT Papaya (Carica papaya L.) production and marketability are strongly constrained by postharvest diseases, with anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. representing the most significant threat. Traditional control relies on synthetic fungicides, which, although effective, face challenges such as the development of pathogen resistance ...

Conidium production by insect pathogenic fungi on commercially available agars [PDF]
Conidium production by three species of insect pathogenic fungi, Metarhizium anisopliae, Beauveria bassiana and Verticillium lecanii, was assessed on various depths and types of commercially available agars.Conidium production was assessed after 14 d of growth on commercially available media as well as at three different agar depths.Metarhizium ...

The fungal effector UvDUF1 from Ustilaginoidea virens not only promotes infection but also acts as a plant immunity elicitor, inducing broad‐spectrum disease resistance in rice and Nicotiana benthamiana. These results reveal its potential as a novel target for sustainable crop protection strategies.
