Polymerization of coniferyl alcohol (monomer of lignins) at the air/water interface

2007
Polymerization of coniferyl alcohol is attempted at the air/water interface. The polymerization process was monitored by surface tension, ellipsometry and neutron reflectivity. The formation of the interfacial layer was found to proceed according to two steps: formation of a dilute layer and then densification.

What Factors Control Dimerization of Coniferyl Alcohol?

Holzforschung, 1999
Summary Data suggest that the dimerization of coniferyl alcohol is not under thermodynamic control. In this study, molecular dynamics calculations were used to estimate the effect of the solvent environment. In water, the coniferyl alcohol radicals were forced to associate by the formation of a solvent cage.

Purification of coniferyl alcohol dehydrogenase from Rhodococcus erythropolis

1988
Publisher Summary The coniferyl alcohol dehydrogenase from Rhodococcus erythropolis catalyzes the pyridine nucleotide-dependent oxidation of coniferyl alcohol with the formation of NADH and the corresponding aldehyde. This chapter describes the assay method and purification procedure of the enzyme.
