On 7‐adic Galois representations for elliptic curves over Q$\mathbb {Q}$
Abstract In recent years, significant progress has been made on Mazur's Program B, with many authors beginning a systematic classification of all possible images of p$p$‐adic Galois representations attached to elliptic curves over Q$\mathbb {Q}$. Currently, the classification is only complete for p∈{2,3,13,17}$p \in \lbrace 2,3,13,17\rbrace$.

Sylow subgroups and the number of irreducible characters of degrees divisible by a prime p$p$
Abstract Let G$G$ be a finite group and p$p$ be a prime. We establish an upper bound for the derived length of a Sylow p$p$‐subgroup of G$G$ in terms of the number of irreducible characters of G$G$ whose degrees are divisible by p$p$. We also prove that if B$B$ is a p$p$‐block of a finite p$p$‐solvable group G$G$ with defect group D$D$, then the ...

On characterization of a finite group by the set of conjugacy class sizes
Let [Formula: see text] be a finite group and [Formula: see text] be the set of its conjugacy class sizes. In the 1980s, Thompson conjectured that the equality [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] is simple, implies the isomorphism [Formula: see text].

On exotic matrix exponential sums and Bessel–Speh functions
Abstract In a previous work with Carmon, we defined Bessel–Speh functions. These are matrix coefficients of irreducible Speh representations of GLkc(F)$\mathrm{GL}_{kc}(\mathbb {F})$, where F$\mathbb {F}$ is a finite field. They arise from (k,c)$(k,c)$ models, which are models that generalize the Whittaker model to Speh representations attached to ...

On some integral properties of dimensions in Isaacs fusion categories
Abstract For a fusion category, we prove some new integrality properties concerning the dimension of a simple object that generates an Isaacs fusion subcategory. If any such fusion subcategory is Isaacs, this implies that C$\mathcal {C}$ is a Frobenius‐type fusion category. A stronger divisibility result is proven for any modular fusion category.

Variations on a theorem by Alan Camina on conjugacy class sizes
In 1972, A. Camina proved that if \(G\) is a finite group whose conjugacy class sizes are 1, \(p^a\), \(q^b\), \(p^aq^b\) for primes \(p\) and \(q\), then \(G\) is nilpotent. (Note that from the hypothesis and Burnside's \(p^aq^b\)-theorem it easily follows that \(G\) must be solvable in this situation.) In the paper under review the authors consider ...

On the Lang–Trotter conjecture for Siegel modular forms
Abstract Let f$f$ be a genus‐two cuspidal Siegel eigenform. We prove an adelic open image theorem for the compatible system of Galois representations associated with f$f$, generalizing the results of Ribet and Momose for elliptic modular forms. Using this result, we investigate the distribution of the Hecke eigenvalues ap$a_p$ of f$f$, and obtain upper

Frugivore Declines Across Taxa Affect Forest Biomass
We examined how frugivore declines affect aboveground biomass in 260 1‐ha forest plots across Gabon using imputed frugivory networks between 122 frugivores and 99,349 trees. Simulated frugivore declines across Gabon tended to reduce aboveground biomass, with effects varying by taxon and geography.

ABSTRACT With the development of modern technology, richer and more intensive longitudinal data are available for researchers to study more complex model structures. The Mixed‐Effect Location‐Scale Model (MELS) is useful for modeling the variance components in such data.

Abstract The objective of the present study is to investigate solar wind‐magnetosphere‐ionosphere coupling (SWMIC) under intense external driving in terms of dayside ground magnetic disturbances. Dayside magnetic reconnection drives a region‐1 sense current system, the SWMIC current system.
