Asymptotics in conjugacy classes for free groups [PDF]
In this thesis we consider asymptotic counts of words in free groups. In particular, we establish results when we restrict the group elements to a non-trivial conjugacy class.\ud \ud We study the action of the fundamental group of a finite metric graph on its universal covering tree.

A lower bound for the number of conjugacy classes of finite groups
In 2000, L. H thelyi and B. K lshammer proved that if $p$ is a prime number dividing the order of a finite solvable group $G$, then $G$ has at least $2\sqrt{p-1}$ conjugacy classes. In this paper we show that if $p$ is large, the result remains true for arbitrary finite groups.
