Conjugacy Classes and Binary Quadratic Forms for the Hecke Groups

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2013
Abstract. In this paper we give a lower bound with respect to block length for the trace of non-elliptic conjugacy classes of the Hecke groups. One consequence of our bound is that there are finitely many conjugacy classes of a given trace in anyHecke group.

Computing the products of conjugacy classes for specific finite groups

2015
Summary: Suppose \(G\) is a finite group, \(A\) and \(B\) are conjugacy classes of \(G\), and \(\eta(AB)\) denotes the number of conjugacy classes contained in \(AB\). The set of all \(\eta(AB)\), such that \(A, B\) run over conjugacy classes of \(G\) is denoted by \(\eta(G)\).

Lower bounds for the number of conjugacy classes of finite groups

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 2009
AbstractIn 2000, L. Héthelyi and B. Külshammer proved that if p is a prime number dividing the order of a finite solvable group G, then G has at least $2\sqrt{p-1}$ conjugacy classes. In this paper we show that if p is large, the result remains true for arbitrary finite groups.

Numbers Of Conjugacy Class Sizes And Derived Lengths for A-Groups

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1996
AbstractAn A-group is a finite solvable group all of whose Sylow subgroups are abelian. In this paper, we are interested in bounding the derived length of an A-group G as a function of the number of distinct sizes of the conjugacy classes of G. Although we do not find a specific bound of this type, we do prove that such a bound exists.

The conjugate and generalized conjugacy class graphs for metacyclic 3-groups and metacyclic 5-groups

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Let G be a metacyclic p-group where p is either 3 or 5, and let Ω be the set of all ordered pairs (x, y) in G × G such that lcm(| x |,| y |)=p, xy = yx and x ≠ y. In this paper, the conjugate graphs associated to metacyclic 3-groups and metacyclic 5-groups are found.
