Ramoplanin Imaging Conjugates – Synthesis and Evaluation

Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
In a previous study we found that fluorescence-marked vancomycin--a glycopeptide antibiotic--is taken up into human tumor cells. To expand on these investigations we now used the lipoglycodepsipeptide antibiotic ramoplanin. Compared to vancomycin it is not only a bigger molecule, but it also has two potential binding sites for coupling to the imaging ...

Comparative evaluation of cytotoxicity of a glucosamine-TBA conjugate and a chitosan-TBA conjugate

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2004
D-glucosamine and chitosan were modified by the immobilization of thiol groups utilizing 2-iminothiolane. The toxicity profile of the resulting D-glucosamine-TBA (4-thiobutylamidine) conjugate, of chitosan-TBA conjugate and of the corresponding unmodified controls was evaluated in vitro.

A Scheme for the Evaluation of Electron Delocalization and Conjugation Efficiency in Linearly π-Conjugated Systems

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2009
In this study, we present a scheme for the evaluation of electron delocalization and conjugation efficiency in lineraly pi-conjugated systems. The scheme, based on the natural bond orbital theory, allows monitoring the evolution of electron delocalization along an extended conjugation path as well as its response to chemical modification.

Streptavidin conjugation and quantification—a method evaluation for nanoparticles

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2016
Aiming at the development of validated protocols for protein conjugation of nanomaterials and the determination of protein labeling densities, we systematically assessed the conjugation of the model protein streptavidin (SAv) to 100-, 500-, and 1000-nm-sized polystyrene and silica nanoparticles and dye-encoded polymer particles with two established ...
