Genetic Stereo Matching Using Complex Conjugate Wavelet Pyramids
A new genetic algorithm-based optimisation technique for stereo matching using complex conjugate wavelet pyramids is proposed. Reliable disparity fields are estimated in the wavelet domain with low computational cost. The new cost function is composed of the differences in wavelet coefficient values, plus vertical discontinuity and ordering constraints.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Application of conjugation to produce genetically modified lactobacilli
Lactic acid bacteria play a crucial role in the production of dairy food products, as well as in human and animal health as part of the microbiota. In particular, lactobacilli strains are well-known for their properties as probiotics and hence, they constitute an ideal candidate for therapeutic molecules delivery in humans.

HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Over the past three decades, the integrase (Int) from Streptomyces phage phiC31 has become a valuable genome engineering tool across various species. phiC31 Int was thought to mediate unidirectional site-specific integration (attP × attB to attL and attR)
