Oxygen Tension and Blood Flow in Relation to Revascularization in Transplanted Adult and Fetal Rat Pancreatic Islets

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2002
We have previously recorded a decreased oxygen tension and blood flow in syngeneically transplanted rat pancreatic islets. The present study related measurements of oxygen tension and blood flow to the vascular density in such grafts implanted beneath ...

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.

Applications of a minimally invasive roll flap technique in peri-implant soft-tissue augmentation – A case series

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology
Deficiency of peri-implant tissue contours is commonly seen due to the process of alveolar ridge resorption after tooth loss. Minor deficiencies can be effectively managed by soft-tissue augmentation procedures to create a more biomimetic tissue contour.

An Epigenetic Fate Converter Based on Nuclei‐Targeting Lipid Nanoparticles Drives Neuronal Programming of Stem Cells for Spinal Cord Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of LNP‐MPG nuclei‐targeting delivery of HMW‐FGF2 promoting histone acetylation to regulate the fate of DPSCs and treat spinal cord injury. LNPs components include pHMW‐FGF2 plasmid, DSPC, Dlin‐MC3‐DMA, cholesterol, and PEG2000, and are modified with MPG to form HMW‐FGF2@LNP‐MPG (HLM). HLM nuclei‐targets DPSCs to deliver HMW‐FGF2,

Structure‐Property Relationships in Catecholamine Coatings for Broad Surface Functionalization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by mussel adhesive proteins (MAPs), six catecholamine molecules with different molecular structure were systematically characterized and compared based on their ability to form homogeneous, reactive coatings. Highlighting candidates capable of balancing coating properties of interest, their successful use as primer layers for organic and ...

Remote Activation of Wnt Signaling and Cell Proliferation by E‐Cadherin Magnetomechanical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pioneering magnetogenetic toolkit enables non‐invasive, precise spatiotemporal modulation of intracellular Wnt/β‐catenin signaling. Functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs@E/EC15) target cellular E‐cadherins to generate localized magnetomechanical forces under low‐intensity magnetic fields.

Qualitative assessment of connective tissue graft with epithelial component. A microsurgical periodontal plastic surgical technique for soft tissue esthetics.

open access: yes, 2009
Connective tissue grafts have been used successfully in the treatment of gingival recession. In the mid 80s and late 90s, the periodontal literature presented various techniques such as free gingival grafts, pedicle flaps, subepithelial connective tissue

In Situ Interfacial Assembly of Dynamic Semi‐Interpenetrating Biopolymer Networks for Robust and Mechanically Adaptive Droplet Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dynamic interfacial semi‐interpenetrating polymer network is constructed by sequential assembly of β‐sheet‐rich SF and CS‐RL. The SF framework provides mechanical strength, while dynamically associated CS‐RL enables local rearrangement, allowing droplets to rapidly reconfigure without loss of interfacial integrity.

Histomorphometric analysis of the palatal soft tissue as donor region for retrieval of connective tissue grafts [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2014
Objectives The soft tissue of the palate is the most frequently used donor side for connective tissue grafts. Various techniques have been described to harvest the connective tissue in anterior and posterior regions of the palate (Hürzeler 1999, Jung ...
