RELEVANT CONSEQUENCE RELATIONS: AN INVITATION
AbstractWe generalize the notion of consequence relation standard in abstract treatments of logic to accommodate intuitions of relevance. The guiding idea follows the use criterion, according to which in order for some premises to have some conclusion(s) as consequence(s), the premises must each be used in some way to obtain the conclusion(s).

Consequence relations in DRT [PDF]
We discuss some consequence relations in DRT useful to discourse semantics. We incorporate some consequence relations into DRT using sequent calculi. We also show some connections of these consequence relations and existing partial logics. Our attempt enables us to display several versions of DRT by employing different consequence relations.

AN ABSTRACT APPROACH TO CONSEQUENCE RELATIONS [PDF]
AbstractWe generalise the Blok–Jónsson account of structural consequence relations, later developed by Galatos, Tsinakis and other authors, in such a way as to naturally accommodate multiset consequence. While Blok and Jónsson admit, in place of sheer formulas, a wider range of syntactic units to be manipulated in deductions (including sequents or ...

CONTRACTIONS OF NONCONTRACTIVE CONSEQUENCE RELATIONS [PDF]
AbstractSome theorists have developed formal approaches to truth that depend on counterexamples to the structural rules ofcontraction. Here, we study such approaches, with an eye to helping them respond to a certain kind of objection. We define a contractive relative of each noncontractive relation, for use in responding to the objection in question ...

Obesity and related consequences to ageing [PDF]
Obesity has become a major public health problem. Given the current increase in life expectancy, the prevalence of obesity also raises steadily among older age groups. The increase in life expectancy is often accompanied with additional years of susceptibility to chronic ill health associated with obesity in the elderly.

The Macroeconomic Consequences of Reciprocity in Labor Relations* [PDF]
AbstractWe develop and analyze a structural model of efficiency wages founded on reciprocity. Workers are assumed to face an explicit trade‐off between the disutility of providing effort and the psychological benefit of reciprocating the gift of a wage offer above some reference level.
