This study uncovers a new switching mechanism in HfO2 and ZrO2, where the absence of a non‐polar layer along the a‐direction induces interaction between polar layers. Consequently, the switching barriers for growth are lower than those for nucleation in this direction, leading to a size‐dependent coercive field that matches experimental observations ...

Calcaneus and Traumatic Stress Fracture
Introduction: Although uncommon, the calcaneus stress fracture is an important differential diagnosis of both traumatic and non-traumatic foot pain. The calcaneus is one of the tarsal bones that are prone to stress fractures, which usually occur as a ...

Conservative descent for semi-orthogonal decompositions
Motivated by the local flavor of several well-known semi-orthogonal decompositions in algebraic geometry, we introduce a technique called conservative descent, which shows that it is enough to establish these decompositions locally. The decompositions we

This study demonstrates an alternative method of creating charge‐stable negatively charged nitrogen vacancy (NV−) centers close to the diamond surface without high‐temperature annealing. By illuminating nitrogen‐implanted regions with a continuous‐wave 405 nm laser, NV− centers are induced, exhibiting electron spin coherence properties suitable for ...

Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

The advance of science is hindered not more by obstinacy than by fickleness. The skepticism which uses an honest crucible is a blessing; the skepticism which wields a club, and smashes old things indiscriminately because they are ancient, is a curse. Underneath its destructive malice is often a credulous and craven tenderness for anything which is new.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
