Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Enhancing consistency of AHP-based expert judgements: A new approach and its implementation in an interactive tool

open access: yesMethodsX
The analytic hierarchy process is an effective method for simplifying complex decision-making processes involving multiple criteria. Experts convey their criteria evaluations through pairwise comparisons that ultimately result in a consistency check of ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Effect of a commercial pectinmethylesterase on tomato paste consistency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Consistency is one of the main traits that define commercial quality and price of tomato paste. Pectins are partially responsible for consistency in tomato paste, therefore enzymatic pectin modification could be used to increase paste ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Consistency Issues in the Construction of Annual and Quarterly Productivity Indices [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Productivity Monitor, 2019
Productivity change is generally measured in index form as ratio of output quantity index over input quantity index. Several statistical agencies publish quarterly as well as annual productivity indices, constructed from what appear to be basically the ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Penalized Exponentially Tilted Likelihood for Growing Dimensional Models with Missing Data

open access: yesEntropy
This paper develops a penalized exponentially tilted (ET) likelihood to simultaneously estimate unknown parameters and select variables for growing dimensional models with missing response at random.
