On the Establishment of Internally Consistent Abundance-Oscillator Strength Scales [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1980
AbstractThe method of establishing of internally consistent abundance-oscillator strength scales by using solar fraunhofer lines is elaborated and investigated. The error of internal accuracy should not exceed 0.05 - 0.06 dex. The absolute accuracy depends on the accuracy of “reference” gf-values.The oscillator strengths for about 800 Fe I lines are ...

Self-consistent description of multipole strength: Systematic calculations [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2006
We use the quasiparticle random-phase approximation with a few Skyrme density functionals to calculate strength functions in the J(pi)=0(+),1(-), and 2(+) channels for even Ca, Ni, and Sn isotopes from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line. We show where and how low-lying strength begins to appear as N increases.

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

The consistency strength of the tree property at the double successor of a measurable cardina [PDF]

open access: yesFundamenta Mathematicae, 2010
The Main Theorem is the equiconsistency of the following two statements: (1) κ is a measurable cardinal and the tree property holds at κ; (2) κ is a weakly compact hypermeasurable cardinal. From the proof of the Main Theorem, two internal consistency results follow: If there is a weakly compact hypermeasurable cardinal and a measurable cardinal far ...

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Utilization of waste paper ash as supplementary cementitious material in C-25 concrete: Evaluation of fresh and hardened properties

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2021
The aim of this study was to investigate the properties of concrete with waste paper ash (WPA) as cement replacing material. The chemical composition of WPA was reported, and Portland cement was partially replaced with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of WPA to

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Experimental Investigation of Mortars with Diverse Sand Types

open access: yesMedžiagotyra
Fine aggregates, particularly river sand (NS) and crushed sand (CS), play a key role in concrete production. However, the excessive extraction of river sand has become a serious environmental concern, encouraging the search for sustainable alternatives ...

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...
