Study on Consolidation Coefficient by Different Test Methods

open access: yes, 2011
Through indoor consolidation test and CPTU model test and CPTU in-situ test, the soil consolidation coefficient has been studied. Compared with the consolidation coefficient by indoor test equipment and CPTU, because in-situ test has been made by CPTU ...

Coefficient of consolidation by plotting velocity against displacement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A method is presented for estimating the initial compression, the final compression and the coefficient of consolidation from an observed, experimental consolidation response, using a plot of velocity versus displacement and the conventional Taylor plot ...

Experimental study on comparison of consolidation creep characteristics between silty sand and silty soil

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
n order to explain the lagging settlement in the surrounding ground induced by pre-dewatering of excavations, one-dimensional consolidation creep tests are conducted on typical silty sand and silty soil at a metro station site of Jiangsu Province.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Analysis of 1-D Consolidation of Double-Layered Saturated Porous-Fissured Clay Foundation

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2022
In order to study the one-dimensional (1-D) consolidation behavior of double-layered saturated porous-fissured clay foundation, the governing consolidation equations of saturated porous-fissured media were developed based on the mixture theory under the ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Prediction of Consolidation Characteristics from Index Properties

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Compression index and coefficient of consolidation are two most important parameters in obtaining the consolidation characteristics of cohesive soil. Considerable time and effort are required to obtain these parameters from the oedometer test. Therefore,

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
