Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Analytical solution of one-dimensional electroosmotic consolidation considering the thermal effect

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi
In recent years, electro-osmotic method is an effective foundation treatment method for dredged silt; however, few studies have focused on the influence of temperature on the electro-osmotic consolidation. To explore the influence of temperature field on

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Differential Settlement of Intersecting Buildings in an Offshore Reclamation Project

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
This paper addresses the problem of open gaps caused by differential settlement in the process of constructing sluice buildings in soft soil beach areas, combined with the construction of sluice and supporting facilities in a reclamation project.

Studi Aplikasi Vacuum Preloading Sebagai Metode Alternatif Percepatan Proses Konsolidasi pada Tanah Lempung Lunak Jenuh Air: Trial GVS pada Perumahan Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta

open access: yesComTech, 2011
Vacuum preloading is an alternative method to improve water-saturated soft clay by accelerating the consolidation process. A trial using GVS system was done at Pantai Indah Kapuk residence, Jakarta to investigate the system reliability.

The Effect of variations in PVD installation distance and thickness of soft soil layer for the degree of consolidation and time of consolidation at Gunung Anyar, Surabaya

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Gunung Anyar is one of the areas in East Surabaya which has quite a high indication of the spread of soil clay with The combined Cv is 0.0008 - 0.000125 cm 2/s, which indicates long a consolidation time. The appropriate soil improvement method to speed up the consolidation time is to use a combination of preloading and prefabricated vertical drain ...

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Boosting Long-term Memory via Wakeful Rest: Intentional Rehearsal is not Necessary, Automatic Consolidation is Sufficient. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
People perform better on tests of delayed free recall if learning is followed immediately by a short wakeful rest than by a short period of sensory stimulation.

Nutrient/TOR signaling controls adipose mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) to regulate organismal growth in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...
