From server consolidation to network consolidation

Network Security, 2012
During the past couple of decades, applications, computers and even the networks themselves have proliferated. Today this complexity is a major obstacle for many organisations. Over the past 20 years, companies of all sizes have implemented information technology networks to run and manage their business.

Consolidation of Normally Consolidated Clay

Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1965
Based on the idealized physical properties of saturated, normally consolidated clay, a simple nonlinear theory of one-dimensional consolidation is developed and solved by means of finite difference approximations. To assess the validity of the theory, tests were conducted on three remoulded saturated clays in 10-in.

Coupled-Consolidation Modeling of a Pile in Consolidating Ground

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2012
When a pile is embedded in a consolidating ground (e.g., newly reclaimed land), soil may settle more than the pile, thus generating negative skin friction along the pile shaft. This negative friction induces additional axial load to the pile (dragload) and pulls the pile further downward (downdrag).

Compressibility and consolidation

1995
Compressibility and consolidation can be distinguished as: • compressibility — volume changes in a soil when subjected to pressure amounts of settlement • consolidation — rate of volume change with time time to produce a given ...

Memory--a Century of Consolidation

Science, 2000
The memory consolidation hypothesis proposed 100 years ago by Müller and Pilzecker continues to guide memory research. The hypothesis that new memories consolidate slowly over time has stimulated studies revealing the hormonal and neural influences regulating memory consolidation, as well as molecular and cellular mechanisms.
