Ce que révèle l’ordre d’acquisition des classes naturelles à propos des harmonies consonantiques

open access: yesLidil, 2015
Consonant harmony is a common phenomenon in child language. Most of the previous studies on this type of harmony consider this phenomenon as unified. However, pattern production variety prompted us to propose the existence of two distinct phenomena that ...

Another attempt at a chronology for Grassmann’s Law in Greek [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This article takes another look at the chronology of Grassmann's Law (GL). It investigates the different dating suggestions - Indo-European, pre-Mycenaean, post-Mycenaean, post-Homeric - and assesses them critically.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Proposal for encoding the Batak script in the UCS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This is a proposal to encode the Batak script in the international character encoding standard Unicode. This script was published in Unicode Standard version 6.0 in October 2010. Batak is used to write five Batak dialects that are spoken on the island of
