Regression machine learning methods for isolation prediction and massive gain broadband MIMO antenna design for 28 GHz applications

open access: yesResults in Optics
This research paper investigates the design and analysis of a miniaturized mm-Wave MIMO antenna array tailored for fifth-generation applications. The antenna demonstrates a calculated 10-dB impedance bandwidth of 16.61 % (27.137–31.788 GHz).

Transport properties in correlated systems: An analytical model

open access: yes, 2005
Several studies have so far investigated transport properties of strongly correlated systems. Interesting features of these materials are the lack of resistivity saturation well beyond the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit and the scaling of the resistivity with ...

Spectral Tuning of Hyperbolic Shear Polaritons in Monoclinic Gallium Oxide via Isotopic Substitution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spectral tuning of highly directional hyperbolic shear polaritons is realized via isotopic substitution of 16O to 18O in monoclinic β$\beta$‐phase gallium oxide. A red‐shift of almost 40 cm−1 is experimentally demonstrated with near‐field imaging, corroborated by the permittivity change extracted from far‐field experiments and density functional theory.

Wind Speed Forecasting with Differentially Evolved Minimum-Bandwidth Filters and Gated Recurrent Units

open access: yesForecasting
Wind data are often cyclostationary due to cyclic variations, non-constant variance resulting from fluctuating weather conditions, and structural breaks due to transient behaviour (due to wind gusts and turbulence), resulting in unreliable wind power ...

Broadband Excitation by Chirped Pulses: Application to Single Electron Spins in Diamond

open access: yes, 2013
Pulsed excitation of broad spectra requires very high field strengths if monochromatic pulses are used. If the corresponding high power is not available or not desirable, the pulses can be replaced by suitable low-power pulses that distribute the power ...

Ultralow‐Frequency Epsilon‐Near‐Zero States in 3D‐Printed High‐Entropy Alloy Metacomposites for Ultra‐Thin Perfect RF Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rozanov causality limit—a compulsive proportional thickness‐wavelength relationship (nd ∝ λ)—makes it challenging to develop perfect absorption with both thin thickness and low frequency. Herein, a cocktail effect in high‐entropy alloys (HEA) is crucially utilized for lowering plasma frequency to achieve epsilon‐near‐zero states, which finally enables ...

Metamaterial Antennas Enhance MRI of the Eye and Occipital Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A radiofrequency antenna platform comprising planar and bend configurations is developed, incorporating structurally integrated epsilon‐negative metamaterial unit cells to enhance MRI. These antennas enable high‐resolution in vivo human MRI of the eye, orbit, and occipital brain. Comprehensive validation, including simulations, phantom experiments, SAR,

A new approach to multi-frequency synthesis in radio interferometry

open access: yes, 2014
We present a new approach to multi-frequency synthesis in radio astronomy. Using Bayesian inference techniques, the new technique estimates the sky brightness and the spectral index simultaneously.

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

Formation of Laser‐Induced Periodic Surface Structures on Titanium Alloy Using a Picosecond Laser: Dependence on Fluence and Number of Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Laser treatment of materials is a versatile technique for generating ordered surface structures. Nevertheless, such structures are the result of laser parameters such as laser pulse fluence. We demonstrate that homogeneous low special frequency laser‐induced periodic surface structures are contingent on both single and effective fluence dose and can be
