AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Effects of Extra Space-time Dimensions on the Fermi Constant [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Effects of Kaluza-Klein excitations associated with extra dimensions with large radius compactifications on the Fermi constant are explored. It is shown that the current precision determinations of the Fermi constant, of the fine structure constant, and ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Conservation of both current and helicity in a quadrupolar model for solar flares

open access: yes, 2004
A model for a solar flare, involving magnetic reconnection transferring flux and current between current-carrying magnetic loops connecting two pairs of footpoints, is generalized to include conservation of magnetic helicity during reconnection, as well ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Research of Kalman-FOPID algorithm in numerical control constant current source

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2018
In the field of optical measurement, the light source has higher requirements to the constant current source, and the existing constant current source system has the system noise and measurement noise, which affects the output precision of the current ...

The Constancy of the Constants of Nature: Updates

open access: yes, 2011
The current observational and experimental bounds on the time variation of the constants of nature (the fine structure constant $\alpha$, the gravitational constant $G$ and the proton-electron mass ratio $\mu=m_p/m_e$) are reviewed.Comment: 27 pages, 2 ...
