A mine-used DC chopper test platform based on energy self-circulation mode

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2019
For problems of large ripple of power supply, difficult selection of high-power load, low test efficiency and high test energy consumption existed in existing DC chopper test platform, a mine-used DC chopper test platform based on energy self-circulation

Euler-Lagrange models with complex currents of three-phase electrical machines and observability issues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A new Lagrangian formulation with complex currents is developed and yields a direct and simple method for modeling three-phase permanent-magnet and induction machines. The Lagrangian is the sum a mechanical one and of a magnetic one.

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Transformer regulated self-stabilizing chopper [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
A self-stabilizing voltage regulator is described. Direct current voltage regulation employing a series transistor rendered conductive during various portions of a cycle is controlled by saturation of an autotransformer. The constant volt-second capacity

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

A Family of Hybrid Topologies for Efficient Constant-Current and Constant-Voltage Output of Magnetically Coupled Wireless Power Transfer Systems

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
In the field of wireless charging technology for electric vehicles, the charging process of lithium-ion batteries is typically divided into two stages: constant-current (CC) charging and constant-voltage (CV) charging.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Design and Implementation of a Wireless Power Transfer System Using LCL Coupling Network with Inherent Constant-Current and Constant-Voltage Output for Battery Charging

open access: yesEnergies
The constant current followed by constant voltage (CC-CV) charging method is commonly employed for battery charging, effectively extending battery life and reducing charging time.

Logarithmic circuit with wide dynamic range [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
A circuit deriving an output voltage that is proportional to the logarithm of a dc input voltage susceptible to wide variations in amplitude includes a constant current source which forward biases a diode so that the diode operates in the exponential ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...
