Fixed window constant modulus algorithms
1999 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings. ICASSP99 (Cat. No.99CH36258), 1999We propose two batch versions of the constant modulus algorithm in which a fixed block of samples is iteratively reused. The convergence rate of the algorithms is shown to be very fast. The delay to which the algorithms converge can be determined if the peak position of the initialized global channel/equalizer response is known.

A batch processing constant modulus algorithm
IEEE Communications Letters, 2004We present a batch processing constant modulus algorithm (BP-CMA) derived by a nonlinear optimization approach to minimizing the constant modulus (CM) criterion. BP-CMA is a line search iteration algorithm. The search direction may be taken as deepest descent direction or Newton direction.

The coefficient of adaptive equalizer could monitor the channel response, such as fiber link polarization change. We experimentally shown that the estimated carrier phase should also be included, if the equalizer uses constant modulus algorithm.

Avoiding divergence in the constant modulus algorithm
2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008One of the most popular algorithms for blind equalization is the constant modulus algorithm (CMA), due to its simplicity and low computational cost. However, if the step-size is not properly chosen or if the initialization is distant from the optimal solution, CMA can diverge or converge to undesirable local minima.

Constant modulus waveform design for MIMO radar via manifold optimization
Signal Processing, 2022This paper concentrates on MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) radar waveform design to improve SINR (signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio). Due to the constant modulus constraint, the problem is essentially an NP-hard and high dimensional problem ...

Global convergence of the constant modulus algorithm
ICASSP '85. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005This paper proves global convergence of the Constant-Modulus Algorithm (CMA) for the case of a real channel when the model order is equal to or greater than that of the channel (the so-called "model-complete" case). The analysis is based on an exact fourth-order Taylor series representation for the cost function minimized asymptotically by the CMA.

Tracking analysis of the constant modulus algorithm
2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008Recently, we proposed a model for the steady-state estimation error of real-valued constant-modulus-based algorithms as a function of the a priori error and of a term that measures the variability in the modulus of the transmitted signal. In this paper, we extend this model to complex-valued data and use it in conjunction with the feedback analysis ...

Robust Constrained Constant Modulus Algorithm
2012In practical applications, the performance of the linearly constrained constant modulus algorithm (CMA) is known to degrade severely in the presence of even slight signal steering vector mismatches. To account for the mismatches, a novel robust CMA algorithm based on double constraints is proposed via the oblique projection of signal steering vector ...

Online adaptive reinitialization of the constant modulus algorithm
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2000An adaptive reinitialization algorithm for the constant modulus algorithm is proposed that relies on the similarities between the constant modulus and the Wiener equalizer and expands the capabilities of a previous algorithm. The proposed algorithm determines adaptively if the CMA will benefit through reinitialization, and if so, it will calculate new ...

The fractionally spaced vector constant modulus algorithm
1999 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings. ICASSP99 (Cat. No.99CH36258), 1999The vector constant modulus algorithm (VCMA) was previously introduced as an extension of the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) which can equalize data from shaped sources having nearly Gaussian marginal distributions. Some simple changes in the structure of VCMA allow it to be used in fractionally spaced equalizers with their attendant benefits ...
