Research on decoupled air speed and air volume adjustment methods for air-assisted spraying in orchards

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Different fruit tree canopies have different requirements for air speed and air volume. Due to the strong relationship between air speed and air volume, the decoupled control of air speed and air volume cannot be achieved using the existing sprayers.

Nonequilibrium model of water generation in Aircraft Fuel Tanks

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
To investigate the formation of water contaminants in fuel tanks, a nonequilibrium model based on heat and mass transfer is established, and the dissolved water, suspended water, condensed water, free water are analyzed under different conditions.

Photon noise and constant-volume operators [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 1987
In an earlier paper [J. Opt. Soc. Am. A 2, 1769 (1985)] a class of nonlinear image processing operators was introduced in which each photoreceptor creates a nonnegative point-spread function whose center height is proportional to its quantum catch and whose volume is constant, so that the local spatial-summation area varies inversely with the local ...

Experimental Study of Constant Volume Sulfur Dust Explosions

open access: yesJournal of Combustion, 2015
Dust flames have been studied for decades because of their importance in industrial safety and accident prevention. Recently, dust flames have become a promising candidate to counter biological warfare. Sulfur in particular is one of the elements that is

Experimental studies on constant mass–volume depletion of gas-condensate systems

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2013
This paper presents a new empirical model to estimate dew point pressure Pd for gas condensate reservoirs as a function of routinely measured gas analysis and reservoir temperature.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Buckling stability analysis of AFGM heavy columns with nonprismatic solid regular polygon cross-section and constant volume

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials
This work presents a comprehensive analysis of buckling stability of axially functionally graded material (AFGM) heavy columns with nonprismatic solid regular polygon cross-section (RPCS) and constant volume.

Constant volume combustion cycle for IC engines [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2011
This paper presents an analysis of the internal combustion engine cycle in cases when the new unconventional piston motion law is used. The main goal of the presented unconventional piston motion law is to make a realization of combustion during constant

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.
