Chemical speciation of environmentally significant metals with inorganic ligands Part 2: The Cu2+-OH-, Cl-, CO32-, SO42-, and PO43- systems [PDF]
Complex formation between CuII and the common environmental ligands Cl-, OH-, CO32-, SO42-, and PO43- can have a significant effect on CuII speciation in natural waters with low concentrations of organic matter.

Surface Complexation Modeling in Variable Charge Soils: Prediction of Cadmium Adsorption
Intrinsic equilibrium constants for 22 representative Brazilian Oxisols were estimated from a cadmium adsorption experiment. Equilibrium constants were fitted to two surface complexation models: diffuse layer and constant capacitance.

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Investigation of Material Constants of CaTiO3 Doped (K,Na)NbO3 Film by MEMS-Based Test Elements
A CaTiO3-doped (K,Na)NbO3 (KNN-CT) film is a lead-free piezoelectric film that is expected to substitute Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) film in piezoelectric micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS).

The microbiome in human skin aging
Age‐related skin changes encompass the well‐known visible phenotypic alterations, together with microbiome dysbiosis and a series of molecular aging hallmarks. These hallmarks characterize not only a fully stablished aged phenotype but also the skin aging process itself.

Optical constants of MgxZn1-xO
Optical constants of Mg(x)Zn(1-x)O films are measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry (M-2000U, J.A. Woollam Co.), where the Mg(x)Zn(1-x)O films are grown on Zn-polar ZnO (0001) substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. Ellipsometric parameters are measured at

Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Screening Constants for Plasma
"We present the improved screening constants, with which the atomic energy levels for the finite temperature materials are obtained by the screened-Hydrogen model. The improved screening constants are obtained for each of 34 materials.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...
