Mesoscopic constitutive relations for dilute polymer solutions

open access: yes, 2006
A novel approach to the dynamics of dilute solutions of polymer molecules under flow conditions is proposed by applying the rules of mesoscopic nonequilibrium thermodynamics (MNET).

Adaptive Twisting Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces torque‐controlled twisting metamaterials as a transformative platform for adaptive crashworthiness. By combining multiscale predictive modeling with experimental validation on additively manufactured gyroids, it demonstrates tunable stiffness, collapse stress, and energy absorption.

Numerical analysis of a frictional contact problem with history-dependent operator in electro-viscoelasticity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics for Industry
The main purpose of this paper is to conduct variational and numerical analysis of frictional contact between an electro-viscoelastic body and an electrically conductive foundation.

Crack shielding in non-planar and frictional discontinuities under mixed-mode loading [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
In this paper, a two-dimensional model to describe the non-planar features of crack morphologies is presented. The model accounts for frictional tractions along the crack surfaces by considering an elastic-plastic-like constitutive interface law ...

Confined flow of suspensions modeled by a frictional rheology

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate in detail the problem of confined pressure-driven laminar flow of neutrally buoyant non-Brownian suspensions using a frictional rheology based on the recent proposal of Boyer et al., 2011. The friction coefficient and solid volume fraction

Frictional sliding without geometrical reflection symmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The dynamics of frictional interfaces play an important role in many physical systems spanning a broad range of scales. It is well-known that frictional interfaces separating two dissimilar materials couple interfacial slip and normal stress variations ...

Ultrasound in Women's Health: Mechanisms, Applications, and Emerging Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
As healthcare moves toward decentralization, ultrasound technologies are evolving from strictly imaging tools in clinical settings into versatile diagnostic and therapeutic platforms, with growing roles addressing women's health needs. This review highlights how ultrasound's underlying physical mechanisms can be harnessed to reduce disparities in women'

A quasistatic bilateral contact problem with friction for nonlinear elastic materials

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
We consider a mathematical model describing the bilateral contact between a deformable body and a foundation. We use a nonlinear elastic constitutive law. The contact takes into account the effects of friction, which are modelled with the

Model coupling friction and adhesion for steel-concrete interfaces

open access: yes, 2009
The interface behaviour between steel and concrete, during pull-out tests, is numerically investigated using an interface model coupling adhesion and Coulomb friction. This model, first developed by Raous, Cang\'emi, Cocou and Monerie (RCCM), is based on

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.
