Heteromorphism of constitutive heterochromatin in carcinoma and dysplasia of the uterine cervix

European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, 1980
Chromosomal heteromorphism in constitutive heterochromatin of chromosomes 1, 9 and 16 was studied in 8 patients with cervix cancer and 15 patients with cervix dysplasia. Tissue cultures (diploid fibroblasts) established from tumor biopsies as well as lymphocyte cultures were used for making C-banded chromosome preparations.

Constitutive heterochromatin and transposable elements in Drosophila melanogaster

Genetica, 1997
Several families of transposable elements (TEs), most of them belonging to the retrotransposon category, are particularly enriched in Drosophila melanogaster constitutive heterochromatin. The enrichment of TE-homologous sequences into heterochromatin is not a peculiar feature of the Drosophila genome, but appears to be widespread among higher ...

Complete deficiency of constitutive heterochromatin on a human chromosome 9

Human Genetics, 1979
In cultured amniotic fluid cells a mediocentric chromosome 9 appeared to be completely deficient in constitutive heterochromatin when stained with distamycin A and DAPI. In addition, this deficient chromosome was found in a blood cell culture from the father. Both the father and the child after birth were phenotypically normal.

[The many faces of constitutive heterochromatin].

Medecine sciences : M/S, 2008
Constitutive heterochromatin, key for the structuration of the centromeres, was long thought as a transcriptionally inert compartment, relatively invariant in composition and structure. Numerous studies have now challenged this view by showing the versatility of these epigenetically defined regions.

Heteromorphism of constitutive heterochromatin in patients with infertility

2000
Rezultati kvantitativnih analiza konstitutivnog heterokromatina u somatskim stanicama neujednačeni su zbog uporabe različitih tehnika, različitog stupnja mitotičke kondenzacije kromatina i drugih poteškoća. Cilj rada bio je razviti jednostavnu, brzu i što objektivniju metodu evaluacije heteromorfizma konstitutivnog heterokromatina i primijeniti je u ...
