Validation of a damage constitutive model based on logistic model dedicated to the mechanical behavior of the rock

open access: yesGeomechanics and Geophysics for Geo-Energy and Geo-Resources
The establishment of mechanical models of rocks can provide crucial guidance to the surrounding rocks stability analysis in the rock engineering. According to statistical damage theory and Mohr–Coulomb strength criterion, the Logistic model is used to ...

A Nonlinear Statistical Damage Constitutive Model for Porous Rocks

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
In the current paper, the deformation behaviours of rocks during compression are studied by testing 10 groups of sandstone samples with different porosity characteristics.

A Solution Set-Based Entropy Principle for Constitutive Modeling in Mechanics

open access: yes, 2018
Entropy principles based on thermodynamic consistency requirements are widely used for constitutive modeling in continuum mechanics, providing physical constraints on a priori unknown constitutive functions. The well-known M\"uller-Liu procedure is based

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

A Thermomechanical Coupling Constitutive Model of Concrete Including Elastoplastic Damage

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The thermomechanical coupling constitutive model of concrete is a critical subject for the theoretical investigation and numerical simulation of the mechanical behaviors of concrete members and structures at high temperature.

Effects of the Unified Viscoplastic Formulation and Temperature Terms on the Thermomechanical Behavior of Soldering Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Solder materials are critical packaging compounds and due to usually weakest melting temperature among packaging constitutive materials, thus, they are frequently subjected to a multitude of physical phenomena: creep, fatigue and combined hardening ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Correction of Flow Curves and Constitutive Modelling of a Ti-6Al-4V Alloy

open access: yesMetals, 2018
Isothermal uniaxial compressions of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy were carried out in the temperature range of 800–1050 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–1 s−1. The effects of friction between the specimen and anvils as well as the increase in temperature caused by ...
