A Proximal Alternating Direction Method of Multiplier for Linearly Constrained Nonconvex Minimization [PDF]
Consider the minimization of a nonconvex differentiable function over a polyhedron. A popular primal-dual first-order method for this problem is to perform a gradient projection iteration for the augmented Lagrangian function and then update the dual ...

Positive radial solutions for a class of quasilinear Schrödinger equations in $\mathbb{R}^3$
This paper is concerned with the following quasilinear Schrödinger equations of the form: \begin{equation*} -\Delta u-u\Delta (u^2)+u=|u|^{p-2}u, \qquad x\in \mathbb{R}^3, \end{equation*} where $p\in\left(2,12\right)$.

The Timetable Constrained Distance Minimization Problem [PDF]
We define the timetable constrained distance minimization problem (TCDMP) which is a sports scheduling problem applicable for tournaments where the total travel distance must be minimized. The problem consists of finding an optimal home-away assignment when the opponents of each team in each time slot are given.

Minimal constrained supergravity
We describe minimal supergravity models where supersymmetry is non-linearly realized via constrained superfields. We show that the resulting actions differ from the so called "de Sitter" supergravities because we consider constraints eliminating directly the auxiliary fields of the gravity multiplet.

An efficient approach to constrained via minimization for two-layer VLSI routing [PDF]
Constrained Via Minimization is the problem of reassigning wire segments of a VLSI routing so that the number of vias is minimized. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for two-layer VLSI routing. This approach is able to handle any types of routing,

Constrained energy minimization based upscaling for coupled flow and mechanics [PDF]
In this paper, our aim is to present (1) an embedded fracture model (EFM) for coupled flow and mechanics problem based on the dual continuum approach on the fine grid and (2) an upscaled model for the resulting fine grid equations. The mathematical model

Constrained Least-Squares Parameter Estimation for a Double Layer Capacitor
This paper presents an estimation of the parameters for a Double Layer Super Capacitor (DLC) that is modelled with a two-branch circuit. The estimation is achieved using a constrained minimization technique, which is developed off-line and uses a single ...
