Iterative Constrained Least Squares for Robust Constant Modulus Beamforming

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2017
This paper addresses robust beamforming in the presence of model uncertainty for constant modulus (CM) signals that are frequently encountered in radar and communication systems. Instead of employing the commonly used minimum variance approach, we utilize a CM criterion that is different from the conventional techniques for blind equalization.

Optimal design of constant-modulus training sequences with constrained length

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2006
In this letter, we consider optimal training designs for multiple-antenna cyclic-prefix-based single-carrier transmissions over frequency-selective channels. Our objective is to find optimal training sequences such that the mean-squared error of least-squares channel estimates is minimized, under constraints on the power, length, and modulus of ...

Power-constrained constant modulus algorithm for synchronous CDMA

Ninth IEEE Signal Processing Workshop on Statistical Signal and Array Processing (Cat. No.98TH8381), 2002
An adaptive algorithm based on the power-constrained constant modulus algorithm (PC-CMA) is proposed for the the detection of synchronous CDMA signals without knowing the spreading codes. The domain of attraction (DOA) for each user is completely characterized for the orthogonal and the general two-dimensional cases.

Sensitivity of the linearly-constrained constant-modulus cost function

[1991] Conference Record of the Twenty-Fifth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2002
The authors present results from the application of the linearly constrained constant-modulus (LCCM) adaptive algorithm to a perturbed array environment. Assuming a narrowband signal model, analytic expressions are derived for the feasible gain values on the signal in the presence of general array perturbations and ambient white noise.

Robust Constrained Least Square Constant Modulus Algorithm

2009 Third International Symposium on Intelligent Information Technology Application, 2009
In practical problems, the constrained least square constant modulus algorithm (LSCMA) can suffer significant performance degradation in the presence of the slight mismatches between the actual and presumed array responses to the desired signal. In this paper, a novel robust constrained LSCMA is proposed based on explicit modeling of uncertainties in ...

Constrained Modulus of Crushed Rock for Pipeline Embedment

Pipelines 2011, 2011
The constrained modulus (Ms) of soil has been used to predict the deflection and the buckling potential of buried flexible pipe. Since the constrained modulus (Ms) of soil increases with depth, Ms could have significant value in calculations for deep burial conditions. The standard laboratory test used to determine the constrained modulus is limited to

Finding the maximum modulus roots of polynomials based on constrained neural networks

2003 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003. Proceedings. (ICASSP '03)., 2003
This paper focuses on how to find the maximum modulus root (MMR) (real or complex) of an arbitrary polynomial. Efficient solution to this problem is important for many fields including neural computation and digital signal processing etc. We present neural networks technique for solving this problem.

Adaptive Widely Linear Constrained Constant Modulus Reduced-Rank Beamforming

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2017
We propose a blind adaptive reduced-rank widely linear beamforming algorithm using the generalized sidelobe canceller structure for interference suppression. A structured Krylov-subspace-based approach is devised to construct the dimensionality reducing transformation matrix, and a recursive least-squares algorithm is developed according to the widely ...

A Multistage Hybrid Constant Modulus Array With Constrained Adaptation for Correlated Sources

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2007
The multistage constant modulus (CM) array was previously proposed for capturing multiple received signals in a cochannel signal environment. It consists of a cascade of individual CM array stages combined with adaptive signal cancelers that remove the various signals captured across the stages.

Correlation between resilient modulus (M) and constrained modulus (M) values of granular materials

Construction and Building Materials, 2018
Abstract The resilient modulus (MR) value of unbound aggregates has been widely accepted as the principal mechanical property required in the mechanistic-empirical design/analysis of pavement structures. Resilient modulus measured through repeated triaxial load test is highly desirable to characterise granular materials.
