Modified Structural Constraints for Candidate Molecule Generation in Computer-Aided Molecular Design

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2018
Computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) has attracted much attention in the past 30 years. The generation of a candidate molecular structure satisfying a set of structural constraints is an important part of such a problem. However, the commonly used structural constraints proposed by Odele and Macchietto [Odele, O.; Macchietto, S.

Computer-aided Design for Product Upgradability under Geometric Constraints

2012
Long-life design for products is seen as a promising approach for improving the resource efficiency of their lifecycle. Implementing design to support upgradability allows products to be used for longer than conventional items, which may be abandoned because of functional obsolescence before the end of their physical life.

Computer-aided design on a perforated single-layer absorber under space constraints

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2006
As investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) in 1970, noise is highly responsible for the psychological and physiological illnesses of workers. Therefore, noise control for an enclosed manufacturing system using sound absorbers becomes indispensable.

Markov chains and computer-aided geometric design: part I - problems and constraints

ACM Transactions on Graphics, 1984
Summary: The connection between probability theory and computer-aided geometric design is explored further. Markov chains are shown to be associated with solutions to the following three geometric problems: (1) Given a curve B[P](t), alter the shape of the curve by changing the control points P.

Industrial robot path planning in a constraint-based computer-aided design and kinematic analysis environment

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2009
Paths of industrial robots are easier to plan by using constraints on accurate computer-aided design (CAD) models of both objects representing the real industrial robotic cell and virtual objects representing the auxiliary geometry that is necessary to define path points.

Computer-Aided Design of Power Transmission Shafts Subject to Size, Strength, and Deflection Constraints Using a Nonlinear Programming Technique

Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1985
The problem of synthesis of power transmission shafts supported on two bearings, subject to dimensional, strength, and deflection constraints is posed as a nonlinear programming (NP) problem. The formulation of the design problem and its solution using the gradient projection (GP) algorithm are presented.

Computer aided design of optimal regulators and filters with constraints

2005
In this paper we present and discuss some recent results of the author [Ahmed 1,2,4,7] on the necessary conditions of optimality for linear regulators and filters with or without constraints on system parameters. The approach provides algorithms for optimizations directly on the space of operators giving optimal regulators and filters.

A flexible computer aid for conceptual design based on constraint propagation and component-modeling

Aircraft Design, Systems and Operations Conference, 1988
The Rubber Airplane program, which combines two symbolic processing techniques with a component-based database of design knowledge, is proposed as a computer aid for conceptual design. Using object-oriented programming, programs are organized around the objects and behavior to be simulated, and using constraint propagation, declarative statements ...
