A role for the purinergic receptor P2X3 in astrocytes in the mechanism of craniofacial neuropathic pain

open access: yes, 2017
The purinergic receptor P2X3, expressed in the central terminals of primary nociceptive neurons in the brainstem, plays an important role in pathological pain.

Miniaturized Bidirectional Thermal Stimulation System Integrated With an Electrode Array for Recording Neural Activities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a miniaturized bidirectional thermal stimulation system integrated with an electrode array enabling real‐time, bidirectional modulation and simultaneous recording of neural activity through localized heating and cooling. By monolithic integration of the Peltier element and with a silicon neural probe, the innovative system allows ...

A Review on Blood Flow Simulation in Stenotically Diseased Arteries.

open access: yes
Heart diseases which can lead to stroke and heart attacks, affect numerous individuals worldwide due to disruptions in blood flow within the body. A common underlying cause for such hemodynamic disorders is a constriction in the artery, which is known as

Combining Fret and Super‐Resolution Microscopy Reveals Kinase Activation and Mitochondrial Activity at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BioSenSRRF is an open‐source workflow that combines conventional FRET biosensors with SRRF reconstruction to generate sub‐diffraction FRET index maps on standard microscopes. The pipeline integrates automated image registration, SRRF reconstruction, quantitative FRET index calculation, and random line‐based hotspot analysis to uncover AURKA‐dependent ...

Endothelial dependent relaxation demonstrated in vivo in cerebral arterioles.

open access: yes, 1986
The endothelium of mouse pial arterioles was injured in situ with a light/dye technique. The response of the arterioles to acetylcholine or to bradykinin was compared before and after the injury. All vessels failed to dilate after injury.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.
