Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

German participle II constructions as adjuncts

open access: yes, 2013
The present investigation is concerned with German participles II (past participles) as lexical heads of adjuncts. Within a minimalist framework of sound-meaning correlation, the analysis presupposes a lexicalist conception of morphology and the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Constructions of comparison in Swedish [Elektronisk resurs] : Quantitative dominance patterns in acquisition and use

open access: yes, 2014
This article has two main objectives. The first is to outline the basic design of the system of expressing comparisons in Swedish sentences from a functional point of view. Comparisons occur in various dimensions: identity, likeness, grading, preference,

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A construction grammar account of possessive constructions in Lancashire dialect : some advantages and challenges. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study investigates reduction of 1SG possessives in possessive–noun constructions in Lancashire dialect. On the basis of a corpus of twenty-six interviews we show that reduction patterns according to (in)alienability.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Ditransitive constructions in Cantonese: the give-construction as the non-prototypical example

open access: yes, 2007
INTRODUCTION : 1. The default definition for a ditransitive construction is almost invariably ‘a construction like the give-construction’. 2. While the give-construction is the most representative example of such constructions in most languages, this is ...
