Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Verb-preposition constructions and small clauses in English

open access: yes, 1989
The analysis of verb-particle constructions, or verb-preposition constructions, as I will call them, has-given rise to much debate in the linguistic literature over a long period of time.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

A syntactic-semantic analysis of English (non)-dativizable constructions in the production of a set of 2L1 English/Spanish simultaneous bilingual twins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper analyzes the syntactico-semantic factors which trigger Dative shift in English dativizable verbs, i.e. those verbs that allow alternation between double object and prepositional complement constructions.

Symmetry and asymmetry in Italian caused-motion constructions: An Embodied Construction Grammar approach

open access: yes, 2022
The present article introduces Embodied Construction Grammar, a cognitive approach to the study of language which at present is not fully developed and established, but whose adoption has repeatedly proved adequate to provide explicit analyses of several

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Finite element models in stresses for bending plates

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2018
Finite element models for plate bending problems are constructed on the basis of approximations of moments fields. The bending and twisting moments are approximated in the finite element area by piecewise constant functions.

Constructive Proofs or Constructive Statements?

open access: yes, 2005
A question raised at previous MAP meetings is the following. Is Sergeraert's "Constructive Algebraic Topology" (CAT, in short) really constructive (in the strict logical sense of the word "constructive")? We have not an answer to that question, but we are interested in the following: could have a positive (or negative) answer to the previous ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Averbal interactional prefabricated sentences and constructions: looking for variability and frozenness in a constructicon for French

open access: yesLexis: Journal in English Lexicology
This article analyzes the variability and the frozenness of averbal speech formulas in French, such as bonne soirée / journée (lit. ‘nice evening / day’; ‘have a nice evening / day’), à demain / bientôt (lit. ‘to tomorrow / soon’;‘see you tomorrow / soon’
