Concepts of exposure analysis for consumer risk assessment

Experimental and Toxicologic Pathology, 2008
Risk assessment of health hazards introduced by chemicals is based on two basic elements: (i) exposure assessment and (ii) hazard identification. Risk characterisation is performed by comparing the exposure level with the NOAEL to establish the margin of exposure.

Consumer Product Risk Assessment

2011
Product risk assessment is performed in order to assess the safety of products in relation to the consumer. According to the Technical University of Liberec, risk is a probability of accident occurrence and the possible consequences that might occur under certain circumstances or during a certain period (Duffey and Saull 2008).

EPHECT III: Health risk assessment of exposure to household consumer products

Science of The Total Environment, 2015
In the framework of the EU EPHECT project (Emissions, Exposure Patterns and Health Effects of Consumer Products in the EU), irritative and respiratory effects were assessed in relation to acute (30-min) and long-term (24-h) inhalation exposure to key and emerging indoor air pollutants emitted during household use of selected consumer products.

Risk Assessment: The Consumer as an Intuitive Statistician

2013
The authors present an overview of academic research on risk assessment. Consumers assess risk as though they were intuitive statisticians, combining two distinct processes to arrive at their perceptions of risk. With the bottom-up process, consumers rely on specific, individual-level risk factors.

Risk assessment of 2,3,7,8-TCDD in paper consumer products

Chemosphere, 1991
Abstract CPSC staff have assessed the cancer risks from exposure to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) in consumer products manufactured from bleached wood pulp, including disposable infant diapers, communications paper, paper towels, facial tissue, toilet tissue, and dinner napkins. Estimated cancer risks (i.e.

Quantitative assessment of biological risks for pork consumers

2007
Risk assessment is the base of European food safety legislation. Since pork is the most consumed meat in Europe, the lack of management of hazards, notably biological ones, may be of major health significance. Among tools used to manage hazards for pork consumers, two are applicated at slaughterhouse: meat inspection and Hazard Analysis Critical ...

RISK ASSESSMENT OF CONSUMING BREAM FROM THE RYBINSK RESERVOIR

Bulletin of KSAU
This work is a logical continuation of our research to study the content of heavy metals in the muscles of bream from areas of the Rybinsk Reservoir, which differ in the magnitude of anthropogenic load. The purpose of this study is to assess the risks associated with the duration of exposure to heavy metals (cadmium, lead, aluminum, chromium, copper ...
