Near contact binary spotting activity
In this investigation of near-contact binary stars, the author fit a synthetic light, computer generated, curve model to observations by adjusting various parameters of two near-contact binary pairs, CN Andromeda and TZ Draconis.

EVIDENCE ON HOT SPOT IN CONTACT BINARY VW CEPHEI
We study the nature of asymmetry and the intrinsic variability in the light curves of VW Cep. We analyze our own B,V light curves as well as the other data from literary sources. In view of the presence of significant intrinsic brightness variations at a

Computational starspot photometry of contact binary stars
Starspots are not well understood for contact binary star systems. The following properties of spots were systematically investigated: temperature, radius, colatitude, and longitude. Spots were modeled on an AE Phe like contact binary system.

CY Ari and IK Lyn are two eclipsing binary systems that share the same spectral type but exhibit significantly different metallicities. Based on the Wilson–Devinney (W-D) method, the first photometric solutions are obtained by analyzing the new complete ...

Lattice Boltzmann simulations of contact line motion. II. Binary fluids.
We investigate the applicability of a mesoscale modeling approach, lattice Boltzmann simulations, to the problem of contact line motion in one- and two-component two phase fluids. In this, the second of two papers, we consider binary systems.

Influence of solid phase thermal conductivity on species separation rate in packed thermogravitational columns: A direct numerical simulation model [PDF]
n this work, a direct numerical simulation model has been proposed to study the influence of porous matrix thermal properties on the separation rate in a model of packed thermogravitational column saturated by a binary mixture. The coupled flow, heat and

Using MESA to Test Our Theory of Contact Binary Star Evolution
A contact binary star system consists of two stars orbiting each other so closely that they share a common atmosphere. Nearly 1% of stars like our sun are contact binaries, yet there is not a comprehensive model of their lives.
