CORNEAL CHANGES FROM HYDROPHILIC CONTACT LENSES [PDF]
Corneal thickness and corneal curvature were measured before and after the wearing of hydrophilic contact lenses and it was consistently found that the thickness increased while the curvature virtually remained unaltered. On removal of the lenses the cornea returned to its normal thickness within two hours.

Adhesion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus epidermidis to silicone-hydrogel contact lenses [PDF]
Purpose. The purpose of this study is to compare the adhesion capabilities of the most important etiologic agents of microbial ocular infection to the recently available silicone– hydrogel lenses with those to a conventional hydrogel lens. Methods.

Elastowetting of Soft Hydrogel Spheres [PDF]
When a soft hydrogel sphere is placed on a rigid hydrophilic substrate, it undergoes arrested spreading by forming an axisymmetric foot near the contact line, while conserving its global spherical shape.

Chlorhexidine kinetics of hydrophilic contact lenses
Abstract An average chlorhexidine concentration of 4·5 μg mg−1 lens (wet weight) was measured in HEMA-based contact lenses after 16 days of the following treatment. The lenses were maintained 16 h daily in 1·5 ml of a solution containing Chlorhexidine digluconate 0·005%, and then worn by adult albino rabbits 8 h daily.
