The Contact Problem at Delamination [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mechanics, 1995
The important phenomenon of delamination buckling is examined subjected to the condition of frictionless contact. Buckled delamination is examined in particular, because in-plane compressive loading is typical and detrimental. Two types of contact can be distinguished, local and global.

Inverse problem and equivalent contact systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geometry and Physics, 2022
We present several results on the inverse problem and equivalent contact Lagrangian systems. These problems naturally lead to consider smooth transformations on the z variable (i.e., reparametrizations of the action).

THE CONTACT LENS PROBLEM

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1949
The American Committee on Optics and Visual Physiology 1 has been interested in the contact lens problem for some time and authorized the investigation which is the basis for this report. This committee is composed of ophthalmologists from the Section on Ophthalmology of the American Medical Association, the American Ophthalmological Society, the ...

On the contact-minimization-problem

2006
The contact minimization problem is the problem of determining which layers should be used for wiring the signal nets of a circuit, such that the total number of layer changes (called contacts or via holes) is minimized. In this paper we show how to use a polynomialtime algorithm to find a maximum matching for a graph to solve the contact minimization ...

Approximation of Contact Problems. Shape Optimization in Contact Problems

1988
The main part of this contribution deals with the approximation of variational inequalities, with special emphasize to contact problems. Finite element technique is used, starting from different variational formulations (primal, mixed). More details, concerning the approximation and numerical realization of contact problems can be found in [9].
