A system-approach to the elastohydrodynamic lubrication point-contact problem [PDF]

open access: yes
The classical EHL (elastohydrodynamic lubrication) point contact problem is solved using a new system-approach, similar to that introduced by Houpert and Hamrock for the line-contact problem.

Evaluation of Plasticity and Creep Parameters From Tensile Stress–Strain Data for a Range of Strain Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.

ANALYSIS OF A RIGID WALL IN AN ELASTIC WEIGHTY HALF-PLANE

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2016
The analysis of stress-strain state of a rigid wall in an elastic weighty half-plane with a broken outline is carried out. To this end, the auxiliary problem of displacements definition in an elastic weighty quarter-plane was solved.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Numerical modeling of heat flow between three-dimensional regions in contact problems

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The method of numerical modeling of heat transfer between three-dimensional objects being in contact is described in the paper. Presented approach is based on the finite element method (FEM) with independent spatial discretization of considered regions ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Solution to the problem of contact between a double-cone and two eccentric circular rails used in the construction of a wave-powered electrical generator

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
In this paper, a mechanism consisted of a double-cone rolling on two divergent-convergent rails is proposed to be used in the construction of a wave-powered electrical generator. Such divergent-convergent rails, attached to a buoy, can be materialized by
