Solution of Contact Problems for Nonlinear Gao Beam and Obstacle

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
Contact problem for a large deformed beam with an elastic obstacle is formulated, analyzed, and numerically solved. The beam model is governed by a nonlinear fourth-order differential equation developed by Gao, while the obstacle is considered as the ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Variational Modification of Žemočkin Contact Problems Solution Method

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1995
The present paper deals with some contact problems. In the well-known Žemočkin method of solving the contact problem of two bodies (structure - elastic half-space), the condition of perfect contact (mutual displacements of two bodies equal zero) is ...

On the decision of contact problems of structural mechanics with unilateral constraints and friction by step-by-step analysis [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2013
Constructively nonlinear problems with unilateral constraints and friction with unknown in advance contact zone are frequent in the calculation of various structures.

A constitutive law for finite element contact problems with unclassical friction [PDF]

open access: yes
Techniques for modeling complex, unclassical contact-friction problems arising in solid and structural mechanics are discussed. A constitutive modeling concept is employed whereby analytic relations between increments of contact surface stress (i.e ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

On Finite Element Computations of Contact Problems in Micropolar Elasticity

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
Within the linear micropolar elasticity we discuss the development of new finite element and its implementation in commercial software. Here we implement the developed 8-node hybrid isoparametric element into ABAQUS and perform solutions of contact ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Smart, Bio‐Inspired Polymers and Bio‐Based Molecules Modified by Zwitterionic Motifs to Design Next‐Generation Materials for Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...
