Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Contribution to contact temperature measurement [PDF]

open access: yesZavarivanje i zavarene konstrukcije, 2016
In this paper will be processed using contact temperature measurement sensors with measuring place. Sensors in the work are the thermocouples suitable kind of metal that have been adopted already existing standards. Performs the description of the necessary theory, provide a transparent table and matching graphics for attained voltages were measured as

The 3D nature of a real un-dismantled electrical contact interface

open access: yes, 2015
A 3D contact analysis and modeling suite of tools are developed and introduced in this work. The "3D Contact Map" of an electrical contact interface is presented demonstrating the 3D nature of the contact.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The Effect of Thermal Contact Resistance on Effective Contact Temperature

open access: yesSen'i Gakkaishi, 2004
Estimation of thermal sensations at the moment when certain objects are touched is an important concern in material evaluation. Heat conduction phenomena can be modeled with the use of thermal contact resistance, not only in cases where imperfect contact is caused by rough and/or uneven contact surfaces, but also in cases where thin films are formed on

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

A Single Subject, Feasibility Study of Using a Non-Contact Measurement to “Visualize” Temperature at Body-Seat Interface

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Measuring temperature changes at the body-seat interface has been drawing increased attention from both industrial and scientific fields, due to the increasingly sedentary nature from daily leisure activity to routine work.

Displacement measurements at a connector contact interface employing a novel thick film sensor

open access: yes, 2008
One of the key failure mechanisms for wiring and connector systems used in the automotive industry, is fretting and fretting corrosion at the contact interface of connectors.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Effect of Kaolin/TiO2 Additions and Contact Temperature on the Interaction between DD6 Alloys and Al2O3 Shells

open access: yesMetals
In this study, the effects of kaolin and TiO2 additions on the interaction between DD6 alloys and Al2O3 shells were investigated at 1550 and 1600 °C, respectively.
