DeSFAM: An Adaptive eBPF and AI-Driven Framework for Securing Cloud Containers in Real Time

open access: yesIEEE Access
Containerized applications offer lightweight and scalable deployment but remain exposed to security risks due to a shared kernel. We present DeSFAM (Dynamic eBPF-driven Syscall Filtering and Anomaly Mitigation), a real-time security framework that ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Pathways and pitfalls: a qualitative study of student experiences in biomedical science education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biomedical science students from underrepresented backgrounds face barriers including financial strain, disrupted laboratory access and cultural exclusion. Peer networks provide vital support when institutional systems are difficult to navigate. To create inclusive learning environments and achieve academic success, educators should blend active, hands‐

Least-Privilege Role-Based Access Control Improvement for Cloud Container Security

open access: yesComputers
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is the de-facto mechanism for preserving Kubernetes and other cloud-native container platforms, however real deployments occasionally drift away from the principle of least privilege as clusters, teams, and services ...

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...
