Frankenbach‐Container‐Terminal Mainz

Bautechnik, 2011
AbstractAm 27.

Container Terminal Berth Planning

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2009
A comparative, up-to-date, critical review of existing research efforts relating to berth planning is presented. Existing models are critically reviewed on the basis of their efficiency in addressing key operational and tactical questions relating to vessel service and their relevance and applicability to different marine terminal operator berth ...

Planning Seaport Container Terminals

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995
Abstract The most complicated and intricate problem existing in the transport field today is the turn-round time of ships in port. Two types of techniques are used to find solution to such problems, analytical models, usually statistical in nature, and simulation.

Container Terminal Environment

2019
The three main operational areas of a container terminal, namely the waterside, yard and landside area, are briefly sketched in order to enable a basic understanding of the processes relevant for the analysis in subsequent chapters. Main planning problems, which occur in the three operational areas, are introduced and described, respectively.

Pavements for Container Terminals

2020
The pavement of container terminals requires high investment costs. In case its design is not appropriate to subsoil conditions and load impacts, any necessary reconstruction is time-consuming and costly. The latter also implies to an overdesign of the pavement. After a compilation of terminal equipment loads, the chapter gives an overview of practical

The container terminal community

Maritime Policy & Management, 2001
Over the past 30 years, technological developments have not only affected the design and operation of the port function, but also the organizational and institutional relationships within the port community. Two inter-organizational interaction models are presented, drawing on the findings of over 200 in-depth interviews with senior managers ...

Interblock Crane Deployment in Container Terminals

Transportation Science, 2002
We consider the problem of scheduling the movements of cranes in a container storage yard so as to minimize the total unfinished workload at the end of each time period. The problem is formulated as a mixed-integer linear program, and the computational complexity ofthe problem is analyzed. A Lagrangian decomposition solution procedure is described.

Maritime Container Terminal Problems

2017
Maritime container terminals are essential infrastructures in global supply chains. Their high management complexity and heterogeneous processes make them an interesting field to apply heuristics. A brief overview of the main optimization problems found at maritime container terminals and a review of the way they are related to each other are firstly ...
