Technical Efficiency Of Arabian And East African Container Terminals. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper the efficiency and performance is evaluated the terminal container for 22 seaports in the region of East Africa and the Middle East. The aim of our study is to compare container terminals situated on the maritime trade road between the East

Attraction area division and freight flow organization optimization of inland railway container terminal

open access: yesTransport, 2021
The attraction area division is the foundation of distribution and organization of freight flow among railway stations. The development of railway container terminal, large railway freight distribution center, is closely related to logistics planning and

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Process Mining: Measuring Key Performance Indicator Container Dwell Time

open access: yes, 2019
The issues measures duration of stay the container logistic processes at ports in developing countries is often a major problem. Therefore, a knowledge process discovery, i.e., Heuristics Miner and Fuzzy Miner, can be used to discover the insight of ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Evolutionary stability strategies of tacit collusion in supervised container terminals

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
To investigate the long-term effects of the Port Authority’s supervision strategies on the container terminal’s collusion strategies, this study constructs a two-sided evolutionary game model consists of the Port Authority and a container terminal based ...
