Examining Container Terminal Efficiency with Diverse Data Sources: Vessel, Truck, and Container Turnaround Times in Japanese Terminals

open access: yesLogistics
Background: Improving container terminal efficiency requires a comprehensive understanding of the interactions between vessel, truck, and container operations, yet existing studies often analyzed these components separately.

Container transport direct call – logistic solution to container transport via Estonia [PDF]

open access: yesTransport, 2007
Container transport in the world grows up to 12 % every year. Chinese container transport contributes majority of container flows in international container transport.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Participation of Private Investors in Container Terminal Operation: Influence of Global Terminal Operators

open access: yesAsian Journal of Shipping and Logistics, 2015
Private container terminal operators have begun to participate in the port business in Asia since the late 1980s. Terminal operators decide whether to invest in terminal infrastructures, and the enhancement of the quality of service level.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Efficiency analysis of container ports and terminals

open access: yes, 2010
In the past two decades the steady growth of seaborne trade has resulted in the increase of container ships, container ports and their terminals. The structure of the shipping market is, moreover, continuously evolving.
